Mrs Pach Noeun, is a farmer from Kandal province. As a rural Cambodian, Pach is part of the 80% of national population that lives in rural areas. She works hard and takes pride in her home and employment.
However, her ten year old timber home is starting to show signs of wear and tear, as well as suffering from insect infestations that is causing decay.
“Every time there is wind or rain I am very scared. In my village there are a few homes similar to mine that collapsed because of strong winds”.
Recognising the need for home improvements, Pach began considering renovation options. When she saw Mekong Homes she liked them right away.
“Of the four [Mekong Homes] I liked the one on the ground the most because I cannot climb the stairs as I get older.”
Pach could also see the long-term benefits of building her new Mekong Home.
“In the future I want this home for my daughter, it’s perfect for her small family”.
“When I build the home in my village, people will see that my home is strong and pretty. I think everyone will want it too, my neighbours need a durable home”.
Transforming homes means transforming lives. With Mekong Homes families can live more comfortably and more safely, as well as be empowered through financial literacy and elevated living standards.
